Competitive Intelligence Agent for n8n FAQ
Does it visit competitor websites?
No. It has no browsing ability and analyses only what you paste. Every finding carries a source quoted from your material, so you can always check where a claim came from.
Why is my evidence rated WEAK when I pasted a lot?
The rating reflects the weakest competitor covered, not the average. Thorough research on one competitor and a homepage paragraph on another is WEAK, because a comparison is only as sound as its thinnest side.
Can I use this to copy a competitor's positioning?
It will not help you. It identifies gaps their customers complain about so you can differentiate. Copying creative or brand assets is explicitly out of scope.
What if it cannot support a claim?
It goes into unverified_claims rather than the analysis. An honest gap is more useful than a confident guess you later repeat to a client.
Is this an actual n8n workflow?
Yes. The download contains an importable live workflow plus a separate credential-free smoke test. It is not a prompt to paste into a chat window.
What do I need to set up?
One OpenAI credential in n8n. There is no OAuth and no external service to connect, because you paste the input directly into the workflow.
Can I use this for client work?
Yes. Review outputs before acting on them and do not resell the kit as-is.
Which AI model should I use?
The workflow ships with an OpenAI chat model selected in n8n. You can change it, but rerun the acceptance cases in TEST_CASES.json before relying on another model.
Does it act on the output by itself?
No. The workflow ends at a reviewed result. It does not send, post, file, or write to any external system.
